The Inauguration of I year B.Sc Allied Health Sciences courses for the academic year 2019 – 2020 was held on 30th October 2019 at 2.30 pm. The Programme started with the prayer song by the students, followed by lighting the Kuthuvilakku by Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai College of Nursing and Research and other dignitaries on the Dias. Dr. Hepsi Rachel Chellarani, Principal, Paavai college of Nursing and Research, welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Group of Instituions, gave a felicitation to the gathering. She insisted the students to obey and love their parents, respect them and accept them as they are. The Presidential address was delivered by Mr. CA. N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai group of Institutions. He emphasized on the importance of Allied Health Sciences and their respective roles in the society. He also stressed much on respecting the parent’s sacrifices for the upliftment of their children. The students introduced themselves with full enthusiasm.

The faculty development department organized a three days orientation programme for the first year students of Paavai Institute of Allied Health Sciences to make them familiar with culture of the Institution, communication skills, examination system, career development and goal settings. The orientation programme was held on 31.10.19 and 04.11.19 at Thirumanthrium Hall. the importance of goal setting and the methods to overcome the failure, and the way to success. He stated the importance of goal setting in life and the way to achieve this goal in life. The Chairman explained and elaborated the definition of goal, steps to goal setting difficulties in setting a goal and how to achieve it. He illustrated various life incidents of people like Mr.Mushtafa and Mr. Muthusamy which depicts the real vision of life. At last, he listed out the six components of success, such as honest goal, clear path, perseverance, Handwork, strict discipline and devotion to work. Dr.K. Selvi , Dean Academics focused on Paavai culture Principles, Paavai mantra and belief Mr. Loganathan HOD in Audio Visual Development, illustrated with examples the life skills and their application in day to day life. He spoke about the importance of rendering first aid to the people who are in need. He showed many videos pertaining to family values, duties and responsibilities. Mrs.K.Subaashini Associate Professor, FDD, Focused on Respect Education. She narrated various life histories of great people who exalted because of higher education.

On 12th December 2019, a special address on “Kavalan SOS Mobile App – Namkaaval Mobile APP” was conducted in Anandha Arangam at 10.00 a.m. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions honoured the chief guest with shawl and momento. In his presidential address he stated that Paavai Mission of Women Empowerment Series will create awareness about the usage of Safety Apps for women and children. Ms. N.Mounika of II M.A. English introduced the Chief Guest. The Guest Speaker Shri.Ara.Arularasu, I.P.S., Superintendent of Police, Namakkal, in his speech he explained about the safety app and cyber safe. He addressed the students as daughters and asked them to protect themselves, their family and the society through their honest deeds. He quoted the famous personalities who fought for women and their freedom, like Bharathiyar, Bharathidasan and Periyar. He also specified that every girl student should have a purpose in life by citing two living examples Mrs.Ambiga, DCP, Mumbai, a victim of child marriage and Ms.Sunitha Krishnan, Founder of Prajwala anti-trafficting organization working on the issue of sex trafficking and sex crime who was a victim for gang rape. The Guest Speaker also explained that suicide is not a final solution for all the problems. He advised the students to have a purpose and goal in life which will take them to next level and make them achieve success. A short video for the usage of Kavalan SOS and Namkaval apps were displayed to the students depicting the negative impact of social media networks like whatsapp, facebook, twitter and instagram and clearly explained the usage of safety apps to protect themselves in need of assistance against sexual harassment, robbery, kidnap and so on.

On 20th December 2019, the Opening Ceremony of Tamil Association, Thiruvalluvar Day and Bharathiyar Day were held as a grand ceremony in Anandha Arangam at 2.00 p.m. The programme commenced with the prayer song and Tamilthai Vazhthu. The dignitaries on the dias lighted the kuthuvizhaku. Ms.K.Priya of III B.Sc. Chemistry welcomed the gathering. The Chairman CA.N.V.Natarjan and the Secretary Mr. T.R.Palanivel of Paavai Institutions honoured the chief guests with shawl and memento. Mr. Kolanthavel Ramasamy, Conference Coordinator, North America Tamil Society inaugurated the grand ceremony and gave his inaugural address. The Guest Speaker Pervurani Thirukkural Maamani Thangavelanar in his special address appreciated Paavai Institutions for organizing such a wonderful programme with the noble thought of enhancing the dignity of Tamil people in the society. He said that only Tamil has the greatness of asserting the meaning of our lives that lie inside us like the words in Tamil, which have their own meaning in themselves. He further detailed that Tamil has Grammar and Literature with high principles which regulates our lives and teaches the values of life such as respecting elders, brotherhood, motivation and moral values. He concluded his speech by asking the students to learn the poems of Poet Bharathiyar and other literary works and enrich our society with the help of Tamil. Earlier, the students of Paavai gave a feast to the eyes by performing dances and skits based on Bharathiyar’s life

On 04th January 2020, a special address on “Love is God, Knowledge is Scripture, Boldness is Support” was conducted in Anandha Arangam at 02.30 p.m. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions honoured the chief guest with shawl and memento. In his presidential address he stated that Paavai Mission of Women Empowerment Series will inspire the students and lead them to success. He added that education for women is the only weapon to change everything, and lead women and the society to success. He also advised the students to celebrate the positive, clear all the ‘nos’ and read more to enlighten their lives and others around them. Ms. R.Kavya of III B.A. English introduced the Chief Guest. The Guest Speaker Swetha Mahendran in her special address stated that only education lifted her to heights and made her father’s dream come true. She stated that women should be unique, which earns support and encouragement, work hard, proceed towards success and lead a life without corruption. She insisted the students that education alone could mould them to be upright and lift them to success. The Correspondent of Paavai Institutions felicitated the gathering. In her felicitation, she asked the students not to compare themselves with others. She said that women should understand the difference between lenience and care, respect others and above all should have discipline and punctuality. She also said that education is the only thing which brings equality among the students and avoids discriminations. She stressed the students that college dress code is a social security for them

58^th NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATIONS was inaugurated with a rally, organised by Paavai College of pharmacy and research to spread and create awareness amongst the public about the role of pharmacist in health care and various disease awareness and prevention. The rally started at 10.30 a.m. and ended up at 11.30 a.m with Rasipuram Mariyamman temple via Big Bazaar Street. Around 350 students, accompanied by faculty members participated in the rally. They initiated to avoid self- medication, stressed the importance of cleanliness, awareness about Dengue. The Rally was inaugurated by Dr. M.Ramakrishnan Sir, Treasurer Paavai institutions in the presence of Honourable Chairman CA.N.V. Natarajan Sir, Correpondent Madam Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, R.Siva kumar Vice – Principal , faculty members and students of Paavai college of Pharmacy and research.

On 30th January 2020, a special address on “Be God Devoted, Be Wisdom Enhanced” was conducted in Anandha Arangam at 11.00 a.m. The programme commenced with the prayer song. The dignitaries lighted the Kuthuvilakku The Guest Speaker Shri Jayadvaita Swami is an editor, writer, publisher, teacher and the disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. He gave a spiritual discourse on God, Devotion and the relationship between God and human. He asserted that one can attain Vedic wisdom through Bhagavat Gita, which has been accepted by Vishnu swami, Sangara swami and many western people. He also explained about six qualities of God: Beauty, Wealth, Fame, Strength, Wisdom and Detachment. He further said that human being’s body has a permanent factor called consciousness, which is spiritual existence and the true happiness is feeling that spiritual consciousness and having relationship with God. He asked the students to do devotional service, use their abilities to serve Lord and chant Krishna mantra, which leads to perfect and happy life.
