The Inauguration of 2018 – 2019 batch of I Year B.Sc. Nursing, Allied health Science & B.Pharmacy courses were held on 11th Oct 2018 at Nightingale hall, Paavai college of nursing premises, pachal, Namakkal Dt. The programme started with the prayer song. The kuthuvilakku was lighted by the correspondent Tmt. Mangai Natarajan along with the dignitaries, parents and students. The welcome address was given by Professor Dr.Hepsi Rachel Chellarani, Principal, Paavai College of Nursing and Research. The Chairman of Paavai group of institutions, Thiru N.V.Natarajan sir presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. Padha pooja was conducted to seek the blessings of the parents to their children in the presence of the honourable Chairman. The inauguration came to an end with the vote of thanks by Dr.Radhakrishnan, Principal, Paavai College of Pharmacy. Mr.K.Senthilkumar Director (Admissions), Dr.K.K.Ramasamy Director (Administration), Deans, Professors and the faculty members have actively participated in the programme. The programme came to an end by National Anthem.

Name of the event : RIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR THE FIRST YEAR PARA-MEDICAL STUDENTS OF PAAVAI INSTITUTIONS 2018-19

The Faculty Development Department organized a three day orientation programme for the first year Para-medical students of Paavai Institutions. The orientation programme was held on 29.10.2018, 30.10.2018 & 10.11.2018 at Thirumandiram Hall.The Inauguration of the orientation programme was held, at ‘Thirumandiram Hall’ on 29.10.2018, wherein Dr.Hepsi Rachel Chella Rani, Principal, Paavai College of Nursing and Research, welcomed the gathering. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions, in his inaugural address listed out the benefits of para- medical stream. He further stated about the scope and future of Para-medical courses. He highlighted the Biocon company which is the established commercial industry which makes a profit in millions. He also stressed the duties and the responsibilities of a pharmacist, nurse and technician in cardiology, etc. At last, he gave a preview of the orientation programme with resource persons along with their titles. Finally, he concluded that this orientation programme would be a foundation from which the respective course can be acquired and students can complete the course successfully and be placed in a reputed company or to become an entrepreneur. At the end of the inauguration, Mr.Arun, A.P, Paavai college of Pharmacy and Research, read out the objectives of the programme.The main objective is to make the students to acquaint with the institutional practices and culture by preparing them for the transition from school to professional education

Name of the event : WORLD AIDS DAY

Theme : “KNOW YOUR STATUS”
The world AIDS day 2018 was observed on 1st December 2018. An awareness was conducted on 01/12/2018 started from Namakkal Government to Trichy road. Respected Mrs.Asiya Mariyam, Collectorof Namakkal read the pledge reading an awareness of AIDS in front of hospital followed by all members ans students of Pavai college of Nursing and Research, Namakkal. She waved the flag ans started the rally. The rally went through the new bus stand and marked road. Actively participates in the rally. The information cards were holded by the students throughout the rally and they motivated the public reading AIDS awareness slogans. The public was benefited.

Name of the event : ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR FIRST YEAR B.Sc ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE

Topic discussed :

One day orientation programme was conducted for the students of B.Sc  Allied health sciences on 3rd Jan 2019, lead by the principal and the faculty of PCNR. The programme was started with the prayer song followed by session-I on clinical-oriented instructions regarding knowledge and skill- needed while delivering the care to the patients, professional ethics, values, social commitment, paavai college belongingness were covered by Mr. Leo Arokia Doss, Assistant professor. Session-II was based on Academic – oriented Instructions delivered by Mr.Nagaraj,Associate professor regarding the topic on the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR medical University examination patterns and preparation. Mrs. Saridha prema, Associate professor, delivered the topic on general discipline, fees discipline and discipline in attendance, subjects and their application. The topic, career planning and development was presented by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Hepsi Rachel Charles. The topic on Extended and expanded roles of nursing was given by Prof.Mrs.Annie marry. The programme mainly focused about clinical-oriented and Academic-oriented instructions to all the students. The total no. of students 205 were attended the programme and all the faculty of PCNR attended the same. The students were benefited by this programme.

“To raise the awareness of a disease that many people believe has been eliminated”

The world leprosy day and the world skin cancer month, 2019 were observed on 30th January 2019 by Paavai insistituteof allied health science  . An awareness rally was conducted on 30/01/2019, lead by the Namkkal district collector, Mrs.Asiya Mariyam who waved the flag and started the rally. The pledge was taken by all the health professionals at GH. The really was started from Namakkal GH to Trichy road through new bus stand and market road and completed at GH, Namakkal. All the faculty and students of PCNR have actively participated in the rally with the plug cards and information boards carried by the students regarding leprosy and skin cancer. The public were benefited through this programe.

Name of the event : WORLD cancer 2019- “I AM AND I WILL”

On behalf of the Thangam cancer hospital, NAMAKKAL & Indian Medical Association-Namakkal branch, The world cancer day -2019 was observed on 4th February 2019 by Paavai insititute of allied health science. An awareness rally was conducted on 04/02/2019,lead by the Namakkal District collector, Mrs.Asiya Mariyam who waved the flag and started the rally. The pledge was taken by all the health care professionals at Subhalakshmi Mahal, Namakkal ,lead by Namakkal branch –Indian Medical Association head Dr.Ranganathan. The Rally was started from back side of namakkal GH completed at Subhalakshmi Mahal through new bus stand& market road. All the faculty and students of Paavai College of Nursing and Research have actively participated in the rally with the plug cards and information boards carried by the students regarding Cancer. Followed by seminar regarding Cancer was conducted by Thangam Cancer Hospital at Subhalakshmi Mahal , Namakkal. The public were benefited through this programme.

International Women’s Day and Women Empowerment Series The Chairman of Paavai Institutions in his presidential address expressed his delight of being conditioned and loved by women in the forms of mother, wife and daughter and asserted that Paavai is proud of the women folk of Paavai. He said that women perform equal to men and sometimes more than men. He also said that he has given what the students need in current scenario through seven women empowerment series and it is now the turn of the students to carry out them to succeed in life by being simple and morale. The Correspondent of Paavai Institutions felicitated the gathering and honoured the Chief Guest with shawlwith a special address on “Do Your Duty” were conducted on 08th March 2019 in Anandha Arangam at 11.00 am.  In her felicitation, she said that women should have the quest for knowledge, listening skills, questioning attitude and awareness in action to reach greater heights in their life. She asked the students not to underestimate themselves, compare with male, yield to distractions, be meek and take success to the head. She reminded the students to learn good things and pass confirmed information in their three years formulation period and asked the students to show the result of the women empowerment series in their university result. Ms. K.M.Padhumila of III B.A. English introduced the chief guest. The Guest speaker Dr.R.Kasthuribai, Dean, Faculty Development Department, in her speech said that encouragement is the first and foremost quality of Paavai, which induces action, comfort, and motivation. She asked the students to accomplish the action with great love, passion and role clarity to make the life beautiful by citing many successful personalities like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Robert Frost, Crazy Daizy Victory, Indira Nooyi, Mother Terasa and Alfred Nobel. She then clearly explicated when, how and how long to perform duties and responsibilities and how to lead the family and society without role clash. She concluded the speech by asserting that character alone gives respect and asked the students to learn from life and be happy since women are born to win. Students performed fashion parade on literary characters, an English skit on “Moana”, classical dance, mime, Villupaattu, a Tamil drama on ‘Pasi pini pokiya mangai’, Aerobic dance and fusion dance. The twin programmes were a feast to ears and eyes to the spectators.

The National Pulse Polio Immunization programme was held all over India on 10th March (Sunday). The III Year B.Sc Nursing students of Paavai College of Nursing and Research have actively participated in this programme on Sunday the 10th March 2019. They have administered the oral polio vaccine to all under 5 children at Puduchatram bus stand, Pachal village, etc., have been benefit throughthe programme

The Farewell function for the final year students, Paavai Institutions, was held on 10th April 2019 at Pragathi Hall by 5.30 p.m. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions, presided over the function. The chairman delivered his Presidential Address and he expressed his happiness by witnessing growth of the students as well matured in their behaviour.He pointed out that students learned many things in their college days apart from the academics such as handling situations, proper planning and decision making etc. He blessed and wished the students to be successful in their career and personal life.Smt.N.Mangai Natarajan,Correspondent,Paavai Institutions,felicitated the gathering. In her address, she advised the students to have positive thoughts in their life. She insisted that the students are the future leaders of a nation. So all the students should realize their roles and responsibilities to act accordingly. Finally, she wished that the students should have happy and prosperous life in their future. Final year students shared their experiences of their hostel life and they revealed their satisfaction and contentment on their safety, food and cleanliness of Sri Annai Illam, Paavai Campus. Dr. K. K. Paavai Institutions celebrated its Sports Day on 16th April 2019. Our C.A.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. The Managing Director and Chairman of Sambantham group of spinning mills Mr. S. Devarajan was the Chief Guest of the day. Ms.Swesika II ECE welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest Mr. S. Devarajan inspired the gathering by his inspiring speech. He appreciated our sport persons for their outstanding achievements and he mentioned that sports & games play a vital role in developing the physical as well as mental health of the person. It teach us qualities such as Intelligence, achieving the goal, concentration, patience and facing the challenges. We should follow all these qualities to be successful in our professional life. He highly appreciated and praised Paavai Engineering College for securing Overall Championship with 780 points in the Anna University Inter Zone Tournament and bagged Champions of Champions Trophy for the 5th consecutive year. The chief guest with the dignitaries distributed the prizes to the Inter University students who won Gold medals. Our chairman honoured the chief guest with the memento. Name of the event : webminar on food habits & its impact on life style

Paavai Institutions and CII Indian Women Network jointly organized a Webminar on “Food Habits & its Impact on Lifestyle Diseases” on 24 .05.19, friday at 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function and inaugurated the webminar. The session created awareness about the food habits of the individual and detailed about the different types of diseases. The facilitator is Dr. Yamini Prakash, Chief Dietician at Kauvery Hospitals; Chennai briefed on the food fundamental rudiments like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, macro and micro nutrients which is essential for a healthy body. Each diet has varying restrictions on the types and amounts of carbohydrates intake of an individual. She also explained on low carbs and high carb food. Vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains foods are generally healthy. Refined carbs include sugar-sweetened beverages, fruit juices, pastries, white bread, white pasta, polished rice usage should be minimized. She also added that rainbow coloured food items such as carrot, greens, etc., give the essential nutrients. Eggs are perfect proteins since they contain complete, high quality protein. She insisted to consume a balanced diet and advised not to reduce weight by fasting. Weight reduction should be gradual. Faculty members had queries session for half an hour and the doubts were cleared by the dietician. The chairman distributed the pamphlet of the webminar to the faculty members. Many women faculty members from Paavai Institutions participated in the webminar and benefitted.

We observed 5th International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2019. Under the auspices of National Service Scheme and Physical Education, more than 1200 students participated in the event of celebrating the International Yoga Day in our college premises. Dr.K.Kumaraswamy, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Syndicate Member, Periyar University, Salem was the chief guest for the function. The session started on a divine note with a prayer song. Ms.R.Abinaya, III year B.E. (ECE) welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions. In his presidential address he said “Sound body is very essential for a sound mind lies”. He emphasized that the yoga enriches our feelings and gives wonderful experiences. The chief guest, Dr.K.Kumaraswamy, in his special address, gave the importance and benefits of yoga in our life. He insisted the students to practice yoga daily and it helps us to prevent all diseases from our body. Mr.Elavarasan, Yoga Master, Paavai Engineering College, guided the students in performing the Asanas and Pranayam. Smt.N.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Educational Institutions, Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Administration, Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, Heads of Departments, Mr.M.Santhanaraja, Physical Director, Paavai Engineering College, Mr.C.Rathnakumar, NSS Programme Officer, Paavai Engineering College and the Staff members actively participated in this function. All the students performed the fundamental Asanas in Yoga. At the end of the programme, an oath was taken to do Yoga regularly at least for 30 minutes every day

Name of the event : Review and Re- view programme

Review and Re- view programme was conducted for the Department of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences on 22nd July 2019 at 1.40 pm at Brilliant Hall, Paavai Engineering College Campus.

The programme started with the prayer song by the college choir followed by lighting the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries. The session of Review and Re-view was conducted by the Honourable Chairman CA.N.V. Natarajan, Paavai Group of Institutions.

The session started with the mantra of Paavai,  “Healthy Paavai, Wealthy Paavai and Powerful Paavai”.  The Chairman sir discussed on the importance of having a goal and the steps to be taken to achieve the goal. He also stated with proof that about 99% of the goals were achieved which was written by the achievers whereas only 18% of the goals were achieved which was set but not written. He motivated the students to set a goal which should be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound to achieve it. He also quoted his lifetime experiences with the students and motivated them to involve themselves to attain their goals.He interacted with the students on setting of the goal. The students actively participated in the interaction. The students who enthusiastically participated were rewarded with chocolates.He explained in detail about what is Nursing, its scope, branches, careers and job opportunities in Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. He shared his real life experiences to the students to motivate them to have a high goal in life which is relevant to the profession. He also emphasized to write the goal in their places wherever visible such as their cupboards, mirrors, books which motivate them subconsciously to work towards the goal.He further displayed motivational videos to inspire the students so that importance of setting a goal reaches them better.

Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Group of Institutions contributed her valuable suggestions for the students in improvising and self analzing their abilities and skills. The session was organized by Dr.Selvi, Dean Academics and Dr. Subhashini, Department of Faculty development.

Teachers Day Celebrations was organized on the title ‘Guruvanakkam’ by Paavai Educational Institutions on 10.09.2019 at Anandha Arangam. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function. The programme started with a prayer song, Ms.M.Jesima Yasmin, third year, ECE welcomed the gathering. Mrs.Mangai Natarajan, the correspondent along with other dignitaries lighted the kuthuvilakku. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the chairman, in his special address, he stated that the teaching profession is a noble profession. He highlighted that the teachers are the makers of destiny of a nation. He further, pointed out that the teachers should play the role of facilitator, leaders, counselor, trainers, friends, guide, philosophers and role model to the students. He elaborated that the teachers should inspire, motivate and mould the younger generation for the betterment of the nation. He highlighted that the teachers should always upgrade, update themselves and adopt different types of pedagogical skills to make the teaching – learning effective and efficient. Finally, he narrated his own life incidents of citing his own maths teacher, “Mr. Ramasamy”, who is an eminent teacher. He described the qualities of his own maths teacher which, inspired him and made him to be the best math student. He insisted that the teachers should equip themselves in terms of cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain to make the students as an employable citizen. He wished that the teachers should exemplify in their career and produce good citizen of the country.

HOSTEL DAY was celebrated on 23.10.2019, in Paavai Institutions at Anandha Arangam. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions and Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Institutions presided over the function. Ms.S.U.Susma, second year Civil Engineering, welcomed the gathering. Smt.Mangai Natarajan, in her felicitation address said that she was very happy to see the enthusiastic younger generation. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman while addressing said that the younger generation should realize that they are professional and should inculcate the qualities of an Engineer. Younger generation have a common trait of wasting energy, ideas and time. And he emphasized the students to bridge the gap between professional degree and industry to achieve the goal. Students of Paavai Institutions exhibited their creative talents in various cultural events . Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Administration, Mr.K.Senthil, Director Admissions, Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, Principals, Hostel Managers, Heads of the various departments, faculty members and students were present. Finally, Mr.V.Anand, first year Bio Medical Engineering, proposed the vote of thanks and the program came to an end.
